Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Facilities

Location: Brisbane and Sydney
Commissioned: 2010 - 2015
Partnerships: Brisbane City Council and Transport for NSW
Environmental Benefits: Provides a cleaner burning fuel with fewer emissions to conventional Diesel.

SEI has played a key role in the development and operation over a number of years of five compressed natural gas refuelling facilities for Brisbane City and Transport for NSW.The Willawong bus depot in Queensland for Brisbane City Council, still owned and operated by SEI.

Each facility was designed to take conventional natural gas and compress it to pressures in the vicinity of 200 Bar that is then stored in high pressure cylinders. The CNG is then dispensed to dedicated CNG buses as a cleaner alternative to conventional diesel fuel.
